When I think of the how the people of Israel had been miraculously freed as slaves from Egypt and then went on their way to the Promised Land God prepared for them, the thing that gets me every time is how unnecessarily long they made a relatively short journey. What was supposed to be a journey of a few weeks at most became one of 40 plus years! How does that happen?
And here’s an even more interesting bit. Once the people of Israel did reach the Promised Land, they didn’t enter it because they were afraid.
After spending all that time in the desert one would think you’d be very happy to be home but not them.
The story tells us that they ended up camping right next door to the Promised Land, and didn’t go in for fear of the “giants” living there. Amazing.
Now, isn’t this a reminder of how we also do life sometimes?
Camping right outside the dream God planted in our hearts.
Walking around and inspecting the open door He promised us, but never walking through it. What a sad way to live, and in the case of many Israelites, die.
I have a simple request of you today:
Don’t allow a similar lack of faith or a wrong mind-set to rob you of your destiny and the dreams God has planted in your heart.
Maybe you are camping right next door to your “Promised Land.”
Maybe you’re walking outside the open door you’ve been asking God for so long, but not through it.
I believe He has great things He wants to do in your and my life. And it’s never too late. He wants to increase you, heal your body, restore your marriage, bless you financially, bless your land, and straighten the paths of our children.
It could be that you’re right on the edge of a miracle and you don’t even know it. But you need to get rid of the old wine-skins. You need to get your thinking lined up with God’s thinking; His promises, His ways and nothing will be able to stop you.
It says in Hebrews 12:3 (AMP):
“Just think of Him…so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.”
It’s so easy to lose heart; so easy to forget that God’s working to create good things for your life not things against, so easy to faint in our minds.
But if you find a way to focus on Him and line your thoughts up with his thoughts, His ways will also eventually become your ways, and no obstacle will be too high, no situation too difficult.
We cannot foresee what He’ll do or even imagine what He’s capable of. And often God is creating an outcome in the spiritual realm long before you experience it in the visible. That doesn’t make it any less real for you.
Have patience and faith.
Not an empty blind pathetic hope, but an active bold faith of certainty that everything happens for a reason and purpose, regardless of how random or strange.
If you believe God’s Word, you have to believe that all things are possible through Him and nothing is impossible. Because ultimately, everything is created by Him, through Him and for Him. Therefore, your victory in life is really His victory, and His love your true salvation.
“Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; we are well able to conquer it.” Numbers 13:30 (AMP)
Face your giants and break up camp – it’s time to conquer and own your Promised Land because you are well able.
May light and peace fill your life.
