Let me ask you a question: “Do you believe that God has something greater in store for your life and wants you to reach your full potential in Him?” Or have you decided you’ve reached your limits in life, that you will never be more alive, be more successful or do something meaningful or enjoy the good things in life that you’ve seen others enjoy?
If you have, I’m sad to say, but you’re exactly right. ThAT is exactly what will be true for you, because unless you’re willing to change your thinking and start believing for something bigger in your life, nothing will change. You small life will be bound by your small faith.
The Ancient Scriptures tell us,
“As he thinks within himself, so he is.” (Proverbs 23:7 NASB)
You cannot have a more meaningful life when you’ve already bought into the lie that God’s got nothing more in store for you.
You cannot have a more fulfilling life if you wholeheartedly believe that you are past your sell-by-date.
You cannot have a rich life when you confuse living in poverty with poverty living in you.
Prov.16:3 (NLP) says, “Commit your actions to the Lord and your plans will succeed.”
The more we dwell on garbage in our lives, the more we’re willing to dump into our minds even more and turn it into a dump. Phil.4:8 (The Message) tells us to that,
“You’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.”
If we choose to dwell on the lies, our lives will reflect that. But if we choose to dwell on God’s Word and promises for us, our lives will reflect that.
Now, that does not mean bad and challenging times do not exist and show up.
No, Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NKJV).
He wasn’t saying that tough times don’t show up; He was saying however, that when they do, we can choose our attitudes, how we think, speak and what we hold on to.
Too many people don’t seem to understand this.
They allow destructive habits of thinking and behaving run havoc in their own lives and that of others. Too many expect new result in life whilst still thinking, believing and acting in an old way.As believers we can’t always change our circumstance immediately, but we can choose how we think about our circumstances. And as believers believing in the Almighty God, Creator of all things, we have every reason to challenge the way we think about our circumstances.
Scripture gives us a great strategy to deal with life when it says,
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Phil.4:6-7 NLP)
To become all we can be and reach our full potential in God, we must win the battle of our minds. How we think. Our thoughts determine the course of our lives. And the challenge we all face as believers is aligning our thoughts with God’s thoughts – focus on and claim his promises for us – allow his supernatural blessings, open doors, favour, peace in mind, and increase fill our lives.
So, I’m challenging you today; will you stretch your faith and vision of what’s possible in God and get rid of those old negative mind-sets that hold you back?
Will you throw out the old “wineskins;” the old stories and reasons why you’re holding onto the past hurts and limiting beliefs, and allow God to expand your vision of what’s possible for you? Will you let the Spirit of the Divine stretch your faith beyond what you can imagine and ever thought possible?
Will you believe that you are far more valuable than you’ve ever imagined and have a greater purpose than what you’ve believed for yourself so far?
It all starts with allowing,
“God to transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” (Rom.12:2 NLP).
As you believe, so you shall receive.
May light and peace fill your life.
